• Secure printing capabilities for Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows 2003, Microsoft Windows XP secure Lexmark printer port, CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System), LPR support and command line file-send programs for Sun Solaris 8, 9, 10 and Linux (Red Hat 7 and higher, Red Hat Enterprise 3 and 4 and SuSE Enterprise and Professional 8, 9).
• Supports secure key management protocols, and supports session keys to eliminate key management requirements. The Lexmark PrintCryption card supports 128 bit, 192 bit, and 256 bit encryption keys. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card provides support for the Advanced Encryption Standard (Rijndael algorithm) to meet FIPS-140-2 requirements.
• Unique TCP/IP port numbers are used for the encrypted print information. The card decrypts and prints the information appropriate for the port: Port 9150 – used for the RSA public certificate and control; Port 9152 – used for data encrypted with an AES session key.
• Supported printers: Only network printers with standard Ethernet connections or MarkNet N8000 print servers are supported.

The Lexmark PrintCryption Card analyzes the encrypted data stream, determines if the correct key was used to encrypt the data, decrypts the data and allows the data to be printed. If an incorrect key was used to encrypt the data, all data is discarded, host software is notified and nothing is printed. Files that are not encrypted will print normally.
